Employees can terminate employment immediately in Switzerland given they have a justified cause against the employer. In general, if the resignation is not based on an extraordinary circumstance, then an employee must give an employer any required notice period listed under their official employment contract. The employee in this case does not require a reason for their resignation and can request payment in lieu if they want to leave their employment immediately.
